My Diamond Ring

Wasn't what I expected

I bought this diamond because of the beautiful pictures AND the positive reviews.First let me say that the 1ctw diamond ring sold by the same company (natural diamond) has the EXACT SAME PICTURES. So the size of the diamond in this photo is MUCH CLOSER to 1ctw. Expect your diamond to to be a LOT smaller than depicted.When I got the diamond it seemed cloudy and a little dirty to the naked eye. I really couldn't care less how it looks under 10x magnification, I just want it to look great on her finger and in the box. I took it down to the Jewelry store just to compare. I put it next to other .5ctw diamonds and the difference was significant. The diamond seemed significantly smaller than the other .5 ctw stones in the store.What is not described in this ad yet is VERY IMPORTANT is the cut of the diamond. Notice it's not listed anywhere. The cut means the diamond is either pretty wide or pretty deep. This is one of those things that you can see right away because if it's really deep the diamond looks A LOT SMALLER, if it's wide, it looks a lot wider (bigger). The diamond that I got in my ring when I ordered was about the width of a diamond that was under .4ctw. In otherwords, a lot smaller than a normal 1/2ctw diamond looks, and because it was such a deep cut, or maybe just because of the quality of the stone, it didn't shine at all.I thought this looked like such a beautiful ring for a great price, but man what a disappointment. I'm returning it today. The one positive thing about all this is that the second I asked to return it I got a return label within hours, so the return process seems fairly easy.
